Brandon Acker

Brandon J. Acker is a classical guitarist, recording engineer and specialist in early plucked instruments.  He has toured extensively in England, Scotland, Wales and Canada and performed with notable groups such as the Joffrey Ballet, The Newberry Consort, Music of the Baroque, Opera Lafayette, Haymarket Opera Company, Third Coast Baroque, Bella Voce, Florentine Opera and more.  In 2010, he received 1st place in the Society of Classical Musician’s Competition. Brandon can be heard frequently on 98.7 WFMT and on his CDs: “A Wanderer’s Guitar,” Schubert lieder arranged for guitar and baritone, and “Strung Up,” minimalist music for arranged for harp and guitar. www.BrandonAckerGuitar.com 

 

MAY PERFORMANCE CANCELLED - The Mistress: Madame de Pompadour (click for more information)

Dear Valued Patrons,
We regret to share that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not present The Mistress: Madame de Pompadour this May 8-10th. We currently plan to reschedule this project for a special performance in August 2020. We hope to share more details on that soon. In the meantime, current ticketholders for May performances of The Mistress can choose to hold their ticket(s) and use them for the rescheduled event, or receive a voucher for the cost to be used for future Consort events, donate the cost of their tickets as a tax-deductible charitable contribution, or request a refund. Please note that season pass holders will receive a percentage credit or refund. To confirm arrangements, contact General Manager Hannah De Priest at manager@newberryconsort.org.
