Jade Maze

Francy Acosta holds a D. M. A in Early Music from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), where she studied performance practice with Dr. Ross Duffin and voice with soprano Ellen Hargis. She has a degree in Music Education from her home country, Colombia (Universidad Pedagógica) and a M.A. in Music from the University of New Hampshire (Durham, NH), where she studied voice and vocal pedagogy with Kathleen Wilson on a Fulbright scholarship. Her main interest are the pre-classical Hispanic and Italian repertoires, which she performs both with EnsAmble Ad-Hoc, and other Early Music groups from Colombia and the US. Some performances include the role of Amor in ͞La Púrpura de la Rosa,͟ known as the first opera ever performed in the Americas; solos with Canto, group that specializes in Spanish and Latin American Baroque music. She has taught music history and voice both in Colombia and the United States, including the National University of Colombia, and the University of Chicago Graham School of General and Professional Studies; she currently is a faculty member for Merit School of Music. She has presented her work in national and international events in various Latin American countries, South Korea, and The United States.
