Lucía Mier yTerán Romero

Born and raised in Mexico City, she holds a bachelor’s degree in singing from UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico). In 2011 she received a scholarship to perform rediscovered Mexican Music; with which she worked on Mexican Viceregal Music by composers like Manuel de Sumaya and Ignacio Jerusalem among others.  

 She holds and MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago and continues her singing training with Ellen Hargis. She was part of the Newberry Consort’s programs ‘Rosa das rosas’ in March 2015 and  ‘Juan de Lienas: Vespers from Convento de la Encarnación’ in April 2016.  

 In Chicago she has also performed with The Chicago Dance Theater Ensemble, Third Eye Theater Ensemble, Walkabout Theater, Erica Mott Productions and Theater Unspeakable, with which she is currently a cast member and music director.
