About First Unitarian Church:

First Unitarian Church was founded in 1836 and is among the oldest churches in Chicago. The original building, which held the first church bell in Chicago, was lost to fire in 1862. It’s current building at 57th and Woodlawn was built in 1897 as a mission church to the University of Chicago, and became the primary location of the church in 1909. First Unitarian Church has a long history of supporting the arts and was the original home of the Chicago Children’s Choir when it was founded in 1956. The Newberry Consort is looking forward to performing in First Unitarian Church throughout the 2024-2025 season.
