José Luis Posada

José Luis Posada holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Univerisidad Pedagógica (Colombia), an M.A in Early Musicfrom CWRU -where he studied performance practices with Ross Duffin, and lute & Baroque guitar with Scott Pauley-and a Master’s in Education from NIU. He is a co-founder of EnsAmble Ad‐Hoc; with this and other early music groupshe has performed in Latin America and the US. He has performed and recorded traditional Colombian music and touredextensively performing on tiple, cuatro and guitar. In the Chicago area he has collaborated with Latin Americanmusicians such as Venezuelan percussionist Javier Saume, Mexican violinist Juan Rivera, and with Raúl Fernádez fromSon del Viento. Mr. Posada combines performing with teaching activities and has also worked on professional musicaleditions and arrangements. Highlights include arrangements for the Colombian Symphony Orchestra with Velosa y losCarrangueros (traditional music). Currently, he works as a music teacher for Cicero Public Schools and performs regularlywith EnsAmble Ad-Hoc.
