Lena Console

Lena Console is a trumpet performer and music theorist currently based in Chicago. She regularly performs in period ensembles throughout the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Canada, including Callipygian Players, Bella Voce Sinfonia, Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, Bach Society of Minnesota, Bourbon Baroque, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Early Music Vancouver. On modern trumpet, Lena is a member of the Lakeside Pride Jazz Orchestra of Chicago. Lena holds degrees in music performance and music theory from Indiana University, and is currently working toward her PhD in Music Theory and Cognition at Northwestern University. There, she has been an instructor of the undergraduate Aural Skills and Music Theory curricula, and conducts research regarding the relationships between rhythm & meter and metaphorical & embodied motion.
